Join us to hear from experts in the field about how to navigate the technologies they engage with to limit their exposure to harmful antisemitic and extremist content and empower them to speak out when they see hate online. This panel will equip attendees with practical guidance on managing social media, apps and online games to create a safer online experience for their kids. Experts and everyday practitioners in digital safety, child psychology, and combatting antisemitism will provide actionable strategies for monitoring content, setting boundaries, and empowering kids to make healthy digital choices. Dr. Tara Liberman

Founder & Director, Jewish Community Mental Health Initiative at the American Psychological Foundation

Dr. Tara Liberman is a Licensed Psychologist in private practice in New York City. She specializes in individual psychotherapy with adults and children preschool age through adolescence and their families. In addition to her psychotherapy practice, Dr. Liberman supervises doctoral students and early career psychologists working with children, teens, and parents. Her post-doctoral education includes the Child and Adolescent Program at the William Alanson White Institute where Dr. Liberman teaches and supervises psychology and social work students. Dr. Liberman is the Founder and Director of the Jewish Community Mental Health Initiative (JCMHI) at the American Psychological Foundation which is currently providing 25 weekly free virtual support groups to the Jewish Community. Dr. Liberman has a passion for education and a long history of working with both private and public schools as an in-house psychologist or outside consultant.

Dr. Kat Schrier

Full Professor and Director of Games & Emerging Media, Marist University

Dr. Karen (Kat) Schrier is Full Professor and Director of Games & Emerging Media at Marist University. She is also a game design consultant for World Health Organization (WHO) and CEO of PlatyPlay, LLC, which designs games for care, health, and inclusion. She has been doing research on bias and games with ADL since 2018. Dr. Schrier is the author/editor of over 100 published works, including We the Gamers (Oxford University Press) and Knowledge Games (JHU Press).

Daniel Kelley

Director of Strategy and Operations, Acting Head of the ADL Center for Technology and Society, ADL

Daniel Kelley (he/him/his) is the Director of Strategy and Operations and Acting Head of the ADL Center for Technology and Society (CTS). CTS is a research-driven advocacy center that works to end the proliferation of antisemitism and all forms of hate and harassment online. Daniel was the second employee of the center after its founding in 2017 and has lead tech company engagement for ADL since that time. Since 2019, Daniel has been the lead author of ADL’s annual nationally representative survey of hate, harassment and extremism in online games. He also leads CTS’ tech accountability research efforts, such as its Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial Report Cards, which look at ways to create research grounded advocacy products to inform the public about the nature of hate and harassment online and to hold tech companies accountable.  He has spoken publicly on these issues at the Game Developers Conference, RightsCon, Games for Change and has been consulted on issues related to hate and extremism in gaming by numerous federal US agencies, US legislative offices as well as government agencies in the UK, France and Germany.

Samantha Vinokor-Meinrath

Senior Director of Knowledge, Ideas and Learning at The Jewish Education Project

Dr. Samantha Vinokor-Meinrath is a lifelong Jewish educator and learner. She is the Senior Director of Knowledge, Ideas and Learning at The Jewish Education Project. Samantha is a recognized expert on Jewish teens, antisemitism, Israel, and Jewish identity. She is the author of #antisemitism: Coming of Age During the Resurgence of Hate, a finalist for the 2022 National Jewish Book Award in the category of Identity + Jewish Education. Samantha is an alumna of the University of Pittsburgh, the Jewish Theological Seminary, and Gratz College. She lives in New York and is currently at work on her next book.
